Plus! Lunch Meat Lettuce Wrap Recipe! And… Is Salad Hard On Digestion?

This week’s Snapshot arrives the first weekend of fall! Can you believe it? While I currently live in Southern California, where seasons don’t vary too much, I totally remember growing up in the midwest – with fall bringing so much beauty (leaves changing colors before your eyes) and unpredictability (some days are hot, warm, or just plain cold).

Changes in weather bring changes in clothing! And, depending where you live, undergarments will play a huge role in that change! Because of which, I thought I’d start your Snapshot with a frank talk about a topic I get asked about all the time… bras! Sorry, guys, but this one’s for the ladies!

After that chat, we’re moving onto your health! With a few conversations about greens! From the benefits of lettuce wraps to better digesting veggies in a salad! Let’s roll! (get it? like rolling up your lettuce wrap… never mind)

Hanger IconClothing Hack – My Fave Bra Alternatives

Thank God for the bra. Or, perhaps, Herminie Cadolle who, they say, invented the first modern bra in 1889. Whoever you choose to thank, it can’t be denied that the everyday bra is a beautiful thing for us ladies, right? But, sometimes, we need something different. You know, that little something extra to handle the unique challenges that come with certain articles of clothing, like:

  • Tricky tops
  • Plunging dresses
  • Clingy material
  • Sheer chest dress (say that 3 times fast!)
  • Daredevil cuts

…and you fill in the rest!

Thankfully, today, we have a whole range of crazy good bra alternatives that make it possible to wear almost anything we like! If you’re curious about some of my fave nipple covers and strapless bras – which make wearing said items above effortless – then you must check out this week’s headlining video!

Health Chat – Lunch Meat Lettuce Wrap Recipe

Is there anything better in the world than a good ole’ sandwich featuring fresh baked bread straight out of the oven? Doubt it. However, bread, on the daily, may not exactly be the wisest choice for your health. So, a delicious substitute would most certainly be a welcome addition to your culinary life…

Cue: Lettuce!

First off, lettuce is over-flowing in antioxidants and other nutrients like potassium and vitamins K, A, C. This veggie protects against inflammation, diabetes, and cancer. Not to mention, the omega-3s found in this leafy green are good for the heart and also boost skin and hair health.

Secondly, many lettuces provide delicious flavor and crunch. And plenty of room for all your fave ingredients!

But lifers, listen, not all lettuce is created equal… so I highly suggest using the Romaine variety. Also, sweetheart cabbage is awesome, too! It’s usually bigger, crunchier, more flavorful, and allows you to throw in extra filling!

In this next clip, I’m going to show you one of my go-to lunch lettuce wraps and I hope it gives you some ideas on how YOU might be able to switch things up for a healthier option from time to time!

Don’t forget, in 131 Method we offer a plethora of options for healthy substitutes to your very fave foods, including wraps! For hundreds of recipes and getting healthy from the inside out… join the 50,000 peeps who have never looked nor felt better HERE! Next round begins on Monday, the 24th!

Heart IconIs Salad Hard On Digestion?

While we’re on the subject of greens (and vegetables, in general)…. consuming them in their raw state – for many of us – isn’t necessarily the best for our digestive system. Especially, when eaten too frequently. This, again, depends on YOU and YOUR body. While we teach this in the 131, some quick telltale signs that indicate you might have to ease up on the amount of salad and/or raw veggies:

  • Gas
  • Bloat
  • Indigestion

Now, I happen to be one of those people who can’t have particular greens due to how it affects my stomach. BUT! Not all is lost! To find out what I do to STILL enjoy my treasured healthy greens, watch the following video!

If you have similar issues with salads, I really hope the video above was helpful!

Let me know in the comments below any thoughts / suggestions / comments / compliments you might have for me about your weekly Snapshot! I’m listening.

I appreciate you more than you know!

XOXO

Chalene
