How To Develop the Habit of Happy | Part 2

If you missed part 1 it was about giving yourself permission to have a bad day. However, this is your follow up episode on the habit of happy!

Happiness is a choice… plain and simple. It is also a habit, which means you can take the necessary steps to change your perspective and feeling of overall happiness.

CHOOSE to focus on something besides the negative! If your immediate reaction is negative, take a step back, take the focus away from YOU, and focus on something else. The fact that we get so focused on ourselves, is pretty selfish. The world doesn’t revolve around us… and if someone seems to be treating you differently… maybe THEY are going through a tough time. Maybe it has nothing to do with you. Change your focus to, “this person seems off or upset, what can I do to make them feel better?”

So here’s what you can do to shift your focus and choose happiness!

1. Make it a habit to shift your focus. When you notice that you’ve gone to the dark side, combat the negative thought with something positive. This episode give you specific examples of how to do this!
2. Build a fortress around your positive thoughts.
3. Stop guarding your pennies and start counting your blessings.
