Intro: KJ Biermann, Ozempic vision loss, Roblox widow, Presley Gerber

[00:00:00] Chalene Johnson : What is up, buttercup? So today, I wanna talk to you a little bit about this case of reality TV star Kim Zolciak’s 15-year-old son, KJ Biermann. The case has taken on, wow, a very disturbing turn. I also wanna talk to you about what’s happening with other kids caught up in it, and there’s also new research on GLP-1 semaglutide and vision loss, an update in the numbers.

[00:00:31] Chalene Johnson : When you’re looking at risks like this, how serious is it for those who are already on semaglutide? What do you need to know? Are we hearing about these cases, or are they being covered up? Let’s face it, there’s billions of dollars to be made. A lot of these pharmaceutical companies don’t want you to hear about the risks associated.

[00:00:50] Chalene Johnson : That’s the part of the advertisements that they speed through. Then the story of the widow, the woman whose husband she lost in 2024. He was a multimillionaire, one of the founders of Roblox. She got herself caught up in a, I guess you could say, a love affair with a male escort, and he ended up swindling her for some say up to $16 million.

[00:01:15] Chalene Johnson : The story is kind of wild. Sad story, the death of Cindy Crawford’s son, just heartbreaking, died in a treatment center. We’ll talk a little bit more about that ’cause how is that even possible? How could this kid who was getting treatment and such a positive advocate for mental health, how could this happen?

[00:01:35] Chalene Johnson : It’s heartbreaking. And then we’re gonna talk about what’s going on in the world of fake AI influencers and the case, the, the female fake influencer that we’ve talked about many times on the show. I asked you to take action. You took action, and we took her down. That and so much more here today on The Chalene Show.

KJ Biermann charges: Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann's son

[00:01:56] Chalene Johnson : Let’s get to it. This story is outrageous, and it’s one that’s been in the news for a little while. I was not going to talk about it because I just wasn’t sure if, first of all, you knew who any of these characters were, if you cared, but this has really evolved into something quite outrageous and sad. So it’s the story of KJ Biermann.

[00:02:19] Chalene Johnson : If you don’t know who that is, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s son. His name is KJ. He’s 15 years old, and today he’s facing seven felony charges after a girl his age accused him of sexually assaulting her at a Lifetime Fitness in Georgia. Okay? Of course, he’s denying it, but the piece that was kind of interesting to me was, at first, I was like, “Oh, that doesn’t really make sense.

[00:02:44] Chalene Johnson : Why are they trying this kid in adult court if he’s 15 and the victim was, I believe, at least a couple years younger than him?” The adult court part made it interesting. I’ve just been keeping an eye on it. Like, why wasn’t this gonna be tried in a juvenile case? Okay, if you’ve ever watched Don’t Be Tardy for the Party, then you watched KJ Biermann grow up.

[00:03:12] Chalene Johnson : Don’t Be Tardy for the Party was a spinoff from the Bravo series Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kim Zolciak was one of the housewives. She goes on to meet this former, I think he was an Atlanta Falcons football player. They meet on, at some charity event, they fall in love, they get married, and they have kids right away, like four kids right away.

[00:03:36] Chalene Johnson : Two older boys and then a set of twins. They get the spinoff show called Tardy for the Party. I’m sorry, just Don’t Be Tardy. That’s what it’s called. All of the kids… Sorry, she has two older girls who are very well-known influencers in their own right, who grew up on Real Housewives of Atlanta for the most part, through all their awkward stages.

[00:03:57] Chalene Johnson : Don’t Be Tardy features Kroy and Kim and their marriage and giving birth to these four kids. Again, KJ has grown up on camera. He’s 15 years old. Kim has been on TV for 12, 15 years. So together now they have six kids in one house, and the appeal of the show was just, like, kind of the chaos of it all. It was, like, how this family was actually living.

[00:04:21] Chalene Johnson : It was very wild. But more recently, when the show got canceled, whatever, they didn’t pick it back up, Kim and Kroy divorce. They start having money problems. She’s been accused of having a drinking problem, a gambling problem, fights over money, fights over custody, and it’s been very public. Like, a lot of body camera footage, if you wanna see any of it, if you’re into that kind of drama, it’s all over the socials, especially TikTok.

[00:04:48] Chalene Johnson : I’m bringing all that up because these kids are still kids, and right now people are going back and forth through years of footage from the show, family court papers, and they’re looking at everything for clues. And not just clues over the allegations that this young girl has made, but some recent charges have just surfaced, and that’s why I’m covering this, because it’s pretty disgusting if, of course, these things are true.

[00:05:20] Chalene Johnson : And there’s a lot of smoking guns. There’s, like, where there’s smoke, there’s fire typically, but we also want to look at evidence. So this young girl who allegedly was assaulted said that it happened in a changing area at Lifetime Fitness back in April. She reported it, but not until the next day. And let me explain a little bit of context on why that might be the case.

[00:05:42] Chalene Johnson : This young girl, first of all, she’s 13, I believe. Her best friend apparently is KJ’s girlfriend So KJ attacks his girlfriend’s best friend. Apparently she was very embarrassed, didn’t know what to do, didn’t know how to handle it. When she went to school the next day, when she saw her friend, she had a panic attack and called her mom.

[00:06:07] Chalene Johnson : They called the police, and they bring her in for DNA testing KJ’s defense points out that there was no male DNA found in her examination, and I’m sure as you and I both know, that doesn’t prove anything one way or the other. This is the next day. She could have taken a shower. In fact, we don’t know much about the actual attack on her.

00:06:32

Why adult court? The sealed juvenile case and bond hearing

[00:06:32] Chalene Johnson : I do not think it’s right that people are commenting on whether this could or could not be a possibility just based on the absence of DNA. Get a clue. But at the bond hearing for this case from the attack that happened in April, prosecutors bring up a separate juvenile case. And this is interesting because these charges were brought against him in adult court.

[00:06:58] Chalene Johnson : And I thought to myself at the time, like, that’s really weird. I mean, granted, this is a giant kid. He’s huge. He’s like gonna be a D- or would have been a D1 football player. I was thinking to myself, okay, I know he looks like he’s twenty-one years old, but the kid’s 15. Why is this in, in an adult court? Well, come to find out, the investigators allege, what during their investigation, they found videos of KJ and a family member who was under 12.

[00:07:25] Chalene Johnson : And in these videos, this family member was being assaulted, and there were lots of videos. Now, his attorney, KJ’s, is saying, you know, none of this is true, and he’s disputing the way that the prosecutors are describing the videos. He says that these earlier incidents that relate to family members and these videos are just inappropriate behavior between young kids.

[00:07:49] Chalene Johnson : They should not be resulting in any findings or anything related to sexual assault or anything else. Okay, I’m gonna play you this little clip from the bond hearing. This would mark the second time he’s now been charged with an offense of a sexual nature of a very serious magnitude, both of which involve juvenile victims.

[00:08:12] Chalene Johnson : And in both instances, there was predatory behavior, so the risk he poses to potential victims, um, including those who trust him and who are in a position of closeness to him, is incredibly high. The third is risk of committing a felony pending trial. The defendant has already committed UFs, uh, of a similar nature while currently being under supervision in juvenile court.

[00:08:36] Chalene Johnson : Also a sexually exploitative offense against a minor child. The juvenile incident occurred, was reported April of 2023. There were videos found on this defendant’s cell phone. Those were kept in a hidden folder on his cell phone, and they do depict penetrative sex with a juvenile family member under the age of 12.

[00:08:57] Chalene Johnson : And there’s also some predatory, I would say derogatory, is how I would characterize it, language used by the defendant towards the victim in those videos. Some acts of Pulling hair and things like that that demonstrate a little bit of that aggressiveness that is also described in the current case by the victim we have here Now, what we don’t have is the sealed juvenile records from those earlier charges.

[00:09:22] Chalene Johnson : But this is the part that I’m like, okay, who brought these charges? He had earlier charges against him. Did family members bring them against him? Did somebody report that this had happened? A mandatory reporter? Was the timing of this, did it overlap with when Kim and Kroy were, like, in the news and the police were coming to their house every single day, and there was this major custody battle, and there was custody arrangements?

[00:09:51] Chalene Johnson : And it makes me wonder if this, if something happening with KJ created a difference of opinion, and the two of them just could not handle whatever happened. Again, family member. People are hearing it’s a, a younger family member. But at the time that these videos were recorded, you need to know this, KJ would’ve been 11 The next younger son would have been 10, so it could have been his younger brother, or it could have been the twins, and the twins are a boy and a girl.

00:10:31

Kids on reality TV and the accuser's statement

[00:10:31] Chalene Johnson : But in my opinion, it’s no one’s business which of these kids it was. I know we’re all so nosy, but these are children who didn’t ask to be in the limelight, who didn’t ask to be on TV. I mean, I just assume something horrible had to have happened to KJ. It’s a very high likelihood, which in no way, shape, or form excuses whatever other things he might have done to his siblings or another family member or this young girl.

[00:11:06] Chalene Johnson : But there has been public attention, and that public attention on all of these kids is going to cause irreparable harm. This is another case where parents have, in essence, used their young children to profit. Kim and Kroy are not getting a TV show if it was just the two of them. They featured their children.

[00:11:30] Chalene Johnson : And I hope that anyone who’s listening who has influence over anyone else who might be featuring their kids on either a YouTube channel or Instagram, and they’re like so cute, and now you’re getting all these likes and you’re getting all this attention, or maybe it’s a TV show. Like, it’s just you can’t think of an example where children aren’t experiencing terrible traumas in some cases or just…

[00:11:52] Chalene Johnson : It’s just not what they deserve, and they can’t consent to it, and I wish we would put laws in place to prevent this. And now these kids are being further traumatized, the Biermanns, because everyone has a theory on which one of the kids it was who was being abused allegedly by KJ. But what we don’t know is was it one family member?

[00:12:16] Chalene Johnson : Was it multiple family members? Because th- they said it was a, a family member who was younger than KJ. Well, they were all younger than KJ. He was the oldest. Okay. And these allegations are really, really serious. Again, who made them? I’m not even gonna go into all of the theories on why people think it’s one child or another.

[00:12:35] Chalene Johnson : It doesn’t matter. What we do know is that this young girl from the same high school made these accusations, and this poor girl is now already dealing with the kind of attention you wouldn’t ever want to have to experience at this age. Can you imagine? Oh my God. 13 is so volatile. And she was at the hearings.

[00:12:57] Chalene Johnson : She read a statement. She said that she’s lost friends, that the kids at school are making jokes about her, the online torture. Her family has received death threats, and she says she’s literally afraid for her life And that is happening before this case ever even goes to trial. Here’s a little clip from the young victim’s statement.

[00:13:22] Clip: In the new allegations, the teenage victim has reportedly received death threats and major backlash. She didn’t attend the hearing last week, but a letter she wrote to the judge was read aloud. I’m asking you to please consider my safety when deciding whether to let the defendant out on bond. Ever since what happened to me, I have been living in fear.

[00:13:44] Clip: This situation has affected my life in more ways than I can explain. I am only 15. I should be worrying about school, my friends, and normal things people my age worry about. Instead, I’ve had to deal with the fear, stress, and the consequences of something that I never thought I would have to face. The backlash I’m already facing has been unbearable.

[00:14:08] Clip: I have lost friends. My peers think that I’m disgusting, and people make, making an already difficult situation even harder But what scares me the most is that this has gotten the young people discussing. I have already received threats from neutrals saying that if he is released, he will come after me.

[00:14:31] Clip: If he is released, I fear that the little sense of security I have left will disappear completely.

00:14:37

Kim Zolciak defends her son

[00:14:37] Chalene Johnson : Now, Kim Zolciak has publicly defended her son. And listen, I’m a mom. I understand wanting to go to bat for your kid, but she just kept referring to the girl as, quote, “this woman.” And I’m like, “Kim, you need some coaching here.

[00:14:54] Chalene Johnson : This is a girl. I don’t know whether she was 13 or 15, but she’s a young girl. She’s not an adult. Yeah, they’re both children, but let’s not refer to this young girl as a woman.” Now, granted, there’s also a ton of speculation that maybe KJ himself was abused. That wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibilities considering how young he is and to basically it sounds like he’s already exhibiting predator-like behaviors.

[00:15:23] Chalene Johnson : But we don’t know that. I’m not comfortable turning a question into a story about his childhood or his parents or what he was exposed to. Kids who engage in harmful, abusive sexual behavior, they’re not all the same. Most children who’ve been abused don’t go on to abuse someone else. That’s important to know.

[00:15:46] Chalene Johnson : There are also people who just have mental health issues. What matters when there’s a concern like this is that everyone gets the proper care and assessment, and especially when we’re talking about kids, we need to give some privacy and not make speculations, especially about these victims. Everyone’s digging through old clips of the show and playing, like, you know, little clips of KJ cussing out his siblings when he was, like, four years old.
[00:16:16] Chalene Johnson : Well, so much of the way that they behaved on the show was rewarded because that kind of outrageous behavior made for great ratings So anyways, at the moment, KJ is out on bond under very strict conditions, including no contact with anyone under 16. His attorneys are seeking to move the case to a juvenile court.
[00:16:39] Chalene Johnson : He’s presumed innocent. We have to remember that. The girl’s account deserves to be taken very seriously, and this girl deserves to be treated with innocence and respect and a level of protection. This is one of those instances where I think it’s important to pay attention to cases like this, but not try to be investigators.
[00:16:59] Chalene Johnson : This is not for us to solve. This is not for us to make allegations to destroy or cause more damage to these young kids. The main thing I wanna take away from all of this is it’s just so damaging when we don’t allow kids to be kids. Get qualified help. Protect the child who says that they were hurt. Get help for the child who was accused Let’s just let the prosecutors do what the prosecutors are gonna do.

Sponsor: OneSkin

[00:17:30] Chalene Johnson : Allow me to take just a moment to interrupt myself to talk to you about your skin. As we age, one of the things at least that I found most frustrating was just looking down at my skin and going like, “What happened? What is going on?” You know, as we start to lose collagen and estrogen, your skin texture and the way that it holds moisture, it completely changes.

[00:17:51] Chalene Johnson : I was drenching myself in lotions and just not seeing a difference. And then I had a friend recommend a product called OneSkin. You’ve heard me talk about it before. This stuff makes a huge difference, so if that’s something you’re struggling with, just skin that feels really dry or crepey, trust me when I say you wanna try OneSkin.

[00:18:10] Chalene Johnson : I love their full body lotion. It just goes on so nicely. It’s light. There’s no fragrance. There’s no toxic ingredients. That’s very, very important. It works wonderfully for sensitive skin. It’s been dermatologist tested, and th- this stuff is just amazing. It’s loaded with peptides, so you’re just gonna feel a difference.

[00:18:28] Chalene Johnson : Trust me when I say this. But here’s the key. This is my recommendation. This is girlfriend to girlfriend. Get the SPF tinted moisturizer for your face. It is amazing. I’ve tried a bunch of tinted SPFs, and I didn’t feel like they were tinted. Do you know what I mean? Like, this literally kinda smooths out your complexion.

[00:18:46] Chalene Johnson : You don’t even need to wear makeup, I swear. I’m saying that, then you know it’s really good. I also love their full body SPF, which is really important if you’re out walking in the sun or even if you’re just exposed in the snow. You’re still getting exposed to sun, and you wanna make sure that your face stays nice and young.

[00:19:03] Chalene Johnson : You don’t want age spots or sunspots. And OneSkin has amazing products. Because they are a show sponsor, you get a nice little discount. Go to chalene.com/spf. It’s also a wonderful way to support the show, and I really appreciate that. Again, it’s chalene.com/spf, but you can find all of their products from that link.

Why Wednesday's AI episode matters

[00:19:24] Chalene Johnson : Check it out. I feel like every single week, I am sharing with you a new story about GLP-1s. A lot of them are positive, but some of them are negative. Oh, by the way, let me talk about Wednesday’s episode. So the AI episode that I did on Wednesday, I heard from, I’d say, a quarter of my audience who said, “Chalene, I just want you to know I’m not gonna ever listen to an episode that’s about AI.

[00:19:51] Chalene Johnson : I don’t care, and I’m not interested.” To which I say, “I am your bossy big sister. That is your right, but I’m still gonna boss you around and tell you, girlfriend, if I asked you, ‘Hey, if there were something that could change the course of your future, that could literally threaten the lives of your children and your future grandchildren- It could dramatically change what your life you thought it was gonna look like, what it ends up looking like.

[00:20:21] Chalene Johnson : It could mean you’re out of money and out of a job. Would you want to know a little bit about it? And I think 99% of you would say, “Yeah, I would.” I’m sure there are some who are like, “Nah, I’ll just put it in God’s hands and not worry about it.” But the majority of us, if there was a big meteoroid heading for planet Earth, we would want to know.

[00:20:42] Chalene Johnson : We’d wanna know how to take cover. We’d wanna know how to protect ourselves, our family, and especially if there was something we could do about it, if we could stop it, right? And that’s how I need you to look at AI. So for those of you that missed that episode, maybe I didn’t do a great job in the beginning of it explaining how this relates to everybody.

[00:21:02] Chalene Johnson : I did towards, like, I don’t know, the 10-minute mark, but maybe that was too far. Maybe it was just the title. Maybe I should’ve tricked you with the title. But I’m not gonna be done talking about this, because you need to know. You need to know what’s happening. And ethical, moral users of this technology need to be a part of the conversation.

[00:21:21] Chalene Johnson : And ladies, we need to be a part of this. It’s so many of the dudes, it’s so many men who are making these decisions, and it’s gonna be a major piece of our political landscape in just a few months. It’s just, it’s not that scary, and I know you think it doesn’t affect you and you don’t use it, but you are using it, and it is going to affect you.

[00:21:44] Chalene Johnson : We’re talking about in just a few years they’re saying we won’t have people driving cars. There, so much of this is gonna be automated, and that’s just one small piece. There’s so many ways that it impacts us. So please just do me a favor. Just go back and listen to Wednesday. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be that girl, okay?

[00:22:07] Chalene Johnson : You’re gonna listen to that episode and you’ll be like, “Okay. Okay, I, I get it.” Back to what I was gonna say about GLP-1s. I feel like a lot of what I’ve been learning in terms of, like, chatbots and bot farms and how these AI tools can be used to manipulate us, to make us believe things that aren’t true, to make us have a positive perception about things, and then everybody wants to do said drug or said vaccination.

[00:22:38] Chalene Johnson : Like, our public opinion can be swayed by the use of AI. I’m saying that because it is weird that there’s so many positive stories about GLP-1s, and it feels like the stories that are a little bit on the scary side or involve risks involve the not great results of people taking these GLP-1s. I feel like a lot of those, they’re harder to find, but they’re still out there.

00:23:09

Ozempic, Wegovy, and sudden blindness: the new numbers

[00:23:09] Chalene Johnson : And one such case is one that I’ve heard a lot more of reporting about this week, and that is that some GLP-1s are associated with sudden blindness. This is not new. You’ve heard me discuss it on previous occasions on the show. But this new information is that a lot of those reports were kind of covered up, but there is an eye risk, and it’s associated with semaglutide, the drug in Ozempic and Wegovy and, you know, a lot of other things that people are injecting into themselves, and I think you need to know about it.

[00:23:44] Chalene Johnson : It’s a condition where blood flow to the optic nerve is disrupted, and a person can suddenly lose their vision, usually in one eye, often without any pain. But what’s happening is… Well, I’ll, I’ll describe it, but before I do describe it, you should know that this vision loss is not temporary. It’s permanent And the numbers need a little bit of explaining.

[00:24:08] Chalene Johnson : So when the first study came out, it sounded quite terrifying. This is back in 2024, researchers at the Mass Eye and Ear Institute found that people prescribed semaglutide had more than four times the risk of this condition. Now, people discounted that because, oh, that was amongst people who had diabetes, and people with diabetes have a higher risk of vision loss as it is.

[00:24:36] Chalene Johnson : There was this argument like, “Oh, well, they already had a predisposition for blindness or predisposition for eye problems.” And those were, quote, “relative risks” from one hospital’s patient’s population. Okay. No one was saying seven out of 10 people taking a GLP were gonna lose their sight. But since that time, there have been more studies, although very quiet.

[00:25:00] Chalene Johnson : These studies have produced some conflicting, quote, “results”. So one study drew on 37 million records of people taking GLP-1s and they found, quote, “just a small increase in the relative incidence of blindness”. A 2026 study of US veterans with type 2 diabetes found roughly twice the risk compared to people who were doing a GLP-1 and did not have diabetes.

[00:25:32] Chalene Johnson : Okay. Then the European Medicine Agency, they reviewed more evidence and concluded that the loss of vision was, quote, “very rare”. They estimated that it was about one additional case for every 10,000 people who were taking a GLP-1. Who should we pay closer attention to? Those who had sudden blindness already had known risk factors, that’s important to know, including diabetes, including high blood pressure, including high cholesterol, smoking, sleep apnea.

[00:26:07] Chalene Johnson : An eye doctor can also see whether you have a, quote, crowded optic nerve. And if it were me, if I had some of these other factors that I just mentioned, I would want my doctor to examine my eyes and to examine my vision before I would start a GLP-1, because there are also some cases that say it’s as high as one in 1,000.

00:26:32

Ed's story: Ozempic and vision loss in both eyes

[00:26:32] Chalene Johnson : To me, I know, know a lot of people are ordering these GLP-1s from random sources online, but go see your eye doctor. Have your eye doctor give you an exam and ask them about your risk factors as it relates to optic nerve pressure, diabetes, et cetera. So there’s this man named Ed, who, uh, his story came across my radar this week.

[00:26:56] Chalene Johnson : He was prescribed Ozempic. He was also diabetic, and he said he lost his sight in both eyes over a period of about two weeks, and it’s permanent. And his doctors are questioning whether his very fast prognosis is related to his underlying conditions or this drug. Here is his story. It’s wild.

[00:27:22] Clip: So in May of ’25, I woke up on a Saturday morning and had a speck in my eye.

[00:27:29] Clip: Called the doctor, my eye doctor, and they told me… They made an appointment for me to get in their office, and two weeks later, I was completely blacked out. It progressed within the two weeks. Within three days, I went to the doctor’s on Wednesday, and after that, my eye was gone. My eye with the speck was gone during the weekend.

[00:27:48] Clip: It was shortly after Memorial Day, right around Memorial Day of May of ’25, and needed to make an appointment with my primary, obviously. And when I got to the primary, she was devastated. All right, what do we do? All right, so we gotta find another alternative. I ended up in the emergency room the day I went to the, my ophthalmologist, and she was kind of taken back as they didn’t give a CT scan.

[00:28:13] Clip: So sent me to the hospital to do a CT scan. On the way to the hospital, I- My daughter was my driver, and I said, “Uh, we gotta get there quick ’cause I am losing my sight in my other eye.”

[00:28:26] Chalene Johnson : My mom, when she came to camp last year, she got to hear quite a few of the experts speaking about the benefits of microdosing a GLP-1.

[00:28:35] Chalene Johnson : Now, my mom is the Zumba queen. She doesn’t need to lose weight, but she was like, “You know, do you think I would be a good candidate for this?” I said, “I don’t know. Let, let’s… Why don’t you talk to a doctor about it?” So she starts doing, for, I don’t know, like maybe a month, a microdose of, uh, semaglutide.

[00:28:54] Chalene Johnson : Doesn’t result in any weight loss, but when I read these studies previously, I immediately called her, ’cause my mom has so many problems with her eyes, and I’m like, “Mom, now I’m not hearing anything related to microdosing, but why take a chance?” That’s my stand. Like, your vision is pretty major. Is that something you wanna risk losing?

[00:29:18] Chalene Johnson : Why not ask your doctor if you’re a good candidate? And I’m not telling anyone to stop their medications. Obviously, you know I am not anti-GLP. Every week I share with you different stories, different studies. I think they’re revolutionary. But I also feel like I’m doing you a disservice if I don’t tell you about some of these less known risk factors, because my suspicion is they’re getting covered up.

Roblox founder's widow loses millions to escort Greg Starr

[00:29:42] Chalene Johnson : There’s just too much. There’s billions and billions and billions of dollars to be made. Last thing they want is anyone worrying about their risks. So I’m gonna tell you about your risks so that you’re at least making an informed decision Did you hear about the woman whose husband was the creator of Roblox?

[00:30:03] Chalene Johnson : You guys know what Roblox is, right? Okay, so she’s, like, a m- multimillionaire, and she’s a widow. Like, she lost her husband, I’m not sure when, but not too long ago. So she’s this wealthy widow. She looks to be, like, maybe in her 50s, and she just lost $6 million falling for basically a male escort, this guy that she met through an escort agency.

[00:30:30] Chalene Johnson : And she’s not dumb. She’s smart. She’s grown. She’s a successful woman. Her name is Maryann. Oh, sorry, she’s 49 years old. Her husband, Chad, was one of the original founders of Roblox. Very wealthy man, held several patents. Now, he and his wife were childhood sweethearts. I believe they met when they were, like, 13.

[00:30:54] Chalene Johnson : They’d been married for almost 30 years when he died. He died back in 2024 of suicide, and a few months after he died, a friend of Maryann suggested, like, “Hey, you’ve got this trip that you’d planned to Italy. Why don’t you hire a companion to go with you? Someone who can just, like, keep you company.

[00:31:17] Chalene Johnson : Nothing crazy, like, just someone to spend some time with and bring some light and levity back into your life.” So she actually goes to an agency in Las Vegas called Cowboys for Angels, okay? She picks out this dude. He’s handsome, salt and peppered hair, chiseled. She asks him basically to just go to Italy with her as a companion.

[00:31:44] Chalene Johnson : P.S., this agency is the same agency that’s been tied to the Diddy parties. Nice. So she hires this guy. His name is Greg Starr. I am completely certain that’s got to be a stage name. He’s 38 years old, but his… Again, his shtick is, like, he’s got this salt and peppered hair, so it makes him look like he’s, you know, like, 68, but ripped.

[00:32:07] Chalene Johnson : He’s 38. Okay. So he tells her that he was a West Point graduate, that he had served as an Army Ranger. He’s got a great story. He’s got a law degree and his MBA from Northwestern, and he worked at Deloitte. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “How is she falling for this? Why does she think this, any of this stuff is true?”

[00:32:30] Chalene Johnson : Well, apparently, I can’t personally confirm all these things, but apparently there has been an investigation, and his claims that he went to West Point are supported. His professional profiles, a JD and an MBA, it appears as though he also had a scholarship and was a Northwestern grad and did go to law school.

[00:32:56] Chalene Johnson : That checks. What they haven’t been able to confirm is that he worked at Deloitte. However, they have confirmed that he, from a, a post done by Panoramic Ventures, that he was in fact a venture capitalist who worked at, as an associate to an investment team. So the guy’s got some credentials, so he had to have been super smooth.

[00:33:18] Chalene Johnson : And you can see how this woman very quickly starts falling for this guy. So he’s got the credentials. He’s got, quote, the pedigree. He’s got the abs. He’s got the salt and peppered hair. He’s into her. She’s calling him now her boyfriend. She’s buying him homes. They’re living this lavish lifestyle together.

[00:33:38] Chalene Johnson : However, she’s also paying for his services. That part I’m like, “Girlfriend, what? Huh?” I don’t know what the arrangement was. I don’t know if, if he was like, “I was with this agency. In order to be with this agency, I need to make X amount of dollars.” But on top of all this, like I said, the guy is built, right?

[00:33:57] Chalene Johnson : He has this amazing body. Well, it turns out after the story goes public , his plastic surgeon, an LA surgeon by the name of, uh, Dr. James Emer, who specializes in creating this, like, sculpted look for men where they, like, contour their faces and they give them, like, muscle implants. He’s got this guy’s before and afters and a video of this dude’s transformation.

[00:34:26] Chalene Johnson : She starts paying for him to be his only client You ready for this? $27,000 trip to Italy, then $150,000 to be exclusive. Then he moves into her apartment in the Upper West Side, and then she signs some kind of a additional contract for him, and then she pays him another $360,000, and then another $90,000. These are all for, like, exclusivity, I guess.

[00:34:58] Chalene Johnson : And at one point, they actually break up because she finds out that he’s still seeing some other clients, and she took him back anyways. And then he tells her, “Well, I want completely out of this business. If, if I’m gonna get out of this business, I’m gonna need you to pay me $10 million to buy out my contract, ’cause the agency’s…

[00:35:20] Chalene Johnson : They’re holding me to this contract.” So she goes with him to visit his mom. And while they’re there, people from the agency get her to sign this buyout agreement for $10 million Now, she says, “I’d been drinking, but I signed it.” And she wires him almost $6 million more on top of that. At this point, he’s, like, draining her bank account.

[00:35:50] Chalene Johnson : Drains her all the way down to $12.61. I’m not even kidding. She was about to send another $4 million when her bank flagged the wire and was like, “Um, you don’t have that.” Her family had to step in. That’s probably the only reason why it didn’t get even worse. So now she’s suing him. I’m not sure what that’s gonna do.

[00:36:14] Chalene Johnson : And in her lawsuit, she calls him a sociopath who lacks any conscience. And this didn’t happen to some, again, not to some, like, 21-year-old woman. This is a, a woman who’s grown, and this happened while she’s in probably the depths of despair from the death of her own, her husband of 30 years. And that’s exactly who these guys look for.

[00:36:39] Chalene Johnson : And this story of hers is hitting the news. You’re hearing about it because, because there’s so much money involved, and probably because he’s a gigolo, and probably because there’s a lot of footage of him too. You guys have to look it up. It’s pretty wild to see the pictures and the videos. But this is happening a ton.

00:36:56

AI romance scams targeting women over 50

[00:36:56] Chalene Johnson : I can’t even tell you how many stories I’ve come across where women are falling for these online hoax, I guess you could say, and not surprisingly, a lot of this has to do with AI. They’re not just cloning their voices. Now they can show up on video as a clone of someone else, that they look like somebody who’s doesn’t even exist.

[00:37:21] Chalene Johnson : And when they’re speaking, the AI avatar is speaking on their behalf, and people are gullible, and women are lonely. Men are deceptive, and they are scamming so many women over 50 out of tons, hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars. Talk to your friends, the ones who are back on the dating scene, because as we know from previous episodes, the divorce rate amongst women over 50 is astronomical All

[00:37:55] Bret Johnson: right, I’m listening to this story.

[00:37:57] Bret Johnson: Mm-hmm. My brain’s going, okay, good for this dude because he’s getting back for probably… For every guy that d- has done this to a, a girl, a woman, a woman has done this to a man 100 more times.

[00:38:12] Chalene Johnson : But that’s not fair because- W-

[00:38:15] Bret Johnson: I’m just saying, like Well, I’m just saying, like, w- you’re, you’re making this out like that this woman was, like, taken to the cleaners, and I guarantee you there’s a story a week about some guy doing some- Yeah,

[00:38:28] Chalene Johnson : but they d- they deserve it because- Okay, well-

[00:38:30] Chalene Johnson : because in that case it’s always, like, a really ugly, gross old man, and- Like a

[00:38:33] Bret Johnson: yacht daddy …

[00:38:34] Chalene Johnson : yeah, it’s a yacht daddy, and it’s, it’s different. Please let us be hypocritical, please.

[00:38:38] Bret Johnson: Okay, I’ll let your show be hypocritical but come on.

[00:38:43] Chalene Johnson : He’s got a good point. Hey, I’m not saying one’s right or wrong. I’m just saying, like, ladies, let’s be- They’re both

[00:38:48] Bret Johnson: wrong

[00:38:48] Chalene Johnson : yeah, they’re both wrong, but let’s be vigilant. I’m not gonna name names. I have a girlfriend who… I can’t share too many details ’cause I don’t wanna give her story away, but she did tell me at one point we can tell this story. But anyways, for a reason that I won’t disclose, she was back on the dating market, and she didn’t fall for, like, a guy like this, but she fell for a guy who was using a ton of AI And a ton of bull stories, and just knew exactly what to say.

[00:39:16] Chalene Johnson : Like, exactly. It was like he was grooming her. It was like he’d been watching her social media and figuring out exactly who she was and exactly what to say to her and exactly how to target her. Thankfully, she had people like me who were like, “Hold on a second. We’re gonna do a background check on this guy,” and we figured out who he was, and it was scary AF.

[00:39:38] Chalene Johnson : I mean, I gotta beg her to let us tell the story because it was so scary, and it just happened so fast. The point of m- me sharing this particular story, like Brett said, yeah, it’s been going on for forever and the reverse of it. Yeah, but just be careful because I think it’s hard to imagine that someone could be such a liar and people could be so deceptive if your brain doesn’t work that way.

00:40:03

Sponsor: Organifi collagen

[00:40:03] Chalene Johnson : I know that was true for my girlfriend. Like, when she discovered who he really was, she’s like, “How?” I’m like, “Yeah, if you’re an honest person, you don’t even ever anticipate that people could be such lying POSs.” Ladies, the more research I do on collagen, the more I realize it just needs to be a must. We’ve gotta supplement with collagen, well, especially if you care about the texture and the tone of your skin, the way your hair grows, your nails.

[00:40:33] Chalene Johnson : And all of these things become, like, an issue once we’re over 40, and it just feels like it goes downhill from there. Which is why it is so important that you supplement with collagen. It’s what the body uses for your joints, your muscles, your organs. It’s how you can support your gut health, your metabolism, your cardiovascular health, your immune system, and so much more.

[00:40:53] Chalene Johnson : I have been getting mine from Organifi. Obviously, you know I love Organifi. And as a listener of The Chalene Show, you get 20% off when you go to Organifi, O-R-G-A-N-I-F-I, .com/chalene. Use code Chalene. That gives you another 20% off at checkout. That is O-R-G-A-N-I-F-I .com/chalene. Use code Chalene for 20% off.

[00:41:16] Chalene Johnson : Listen, get yourself some collagen. Make that a regular thing. I just mix in my water bottle every single morning and a few other supplements as well. And we love that Organifi is 100% certified organic. It’s a great company with great products. Check ’em out. Again, organifi.com/chalene. By the way, speaking of yacht daddies and young, hot girls, there’s a lot of that situation at the gym that Brett and I work out at in Miami.

00:41:31

Miami Beach gym outfits

[00:41:42] Chalene Johnson : It is… You guys, it is so entertaining. It is so entertaining the way these girls dress. You just have to look at it as entertainment. And the bodies are body-otti Tonight I was at the gym just before I was recording this, and there were two girls working out together. They had to be, like, I don’t know, maybe n- definitely not even 30, so prob- somewhere 25, 27 years old.

[00:42:04] Chalene Johnson : One of the girls had on… The only way I can describe them is, like, sheer mesh leggings. Like Lululemon-type, you know, full body leggings, but then they had a built-in kind of, like, underwear. They were, like, built into them. And then Straps that look like garters, but they weren’t garters. They were sewn in pieces of material.

[00:42:29] Chalene Johnson : So it was, like, not… Probably thicker than nylons, like a mesh. You know, like I wear mesh tops all the time. Like, like that kind of material, but again, just kind of a thong underwear and garters built into them. I was like, oh, do you know how desperately I want to take a video? ‘Cause I’m like, no, I’m not gonna be able to describe this.

[00:42:49] Chalene Johnson : I’m not gonna be able to find these. No one I know will believe me when I describe this, that this is really happening at my gym, but it is. So if you ever take a nice little trip to Miami Beach and you wanna see some very entertaining outfits, it doesn’t happen at all hours of the day, but there’s always one or two in there where you’re like, “Wow.

00:43:09

Cindy Crawford's son Presley Gerber dies at 27

[00:43:09] Chalene Johnson : Wow, I guess anything goes.” The gym that we work out w- at, by the way, it’s kind of a sad story. Cindy Crawford, I’ve seen her there a couple of times working out. One time she was on the treadmill next to me and she works out with one of the trainers that I know at the gym. Anyways, really sad news. Her son, Presley, Presley Gerber, died this week, age 27.

[00:43:37] Chalene Johnson : Ugh. I can’t even imagine. And what’s wild is he was at a treatment center in Santa Monica when he died on Sunday morning. Police are investigating it. They are saying it’s a suspected overdose. Medical examiner, however, has not confirmed that at this point, that they haven’t done additional testing to determine exact cause of death.

[00:44:00] Chalene Johnson : But Presley was Cindy and Rande Gerber’s, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s oldest child. They have a daughter as well, and he modeled just like his mom, just like his sister. His sister recently has spoken out publicly about her struggles with anorexia, eating disorders, and it’s sad. This kid is… You know, like I said, he’s, he was a model.

[00:44:28] Chalene Johnson : He’d, he’d done campaigns for Moschino, for Calvin Klein. Is that how you pronounce it?

[00:44:34] Bret Johnson: Their whole family did one for Vuori, I know that.

[00:44:36] Chalene Johnson : Really?

[00:44:37] Bret Johnson: Yeah.

[00:44:37] Chalene Johnson : I don’t know if you could hear Brett, but he said the whole family did a campaign for Vuori. And he had appeared in Super Bowl ad with Cindy that brought…

[00:44:47] Chalene Johnson : You know the one that she was so famous for in the ’90s? He was just adorable kid. I mean, and he was a real champion for mental health. It’s something he talked about a lot. He was into photography and skating and- Like I said, he had talked about openly his struggles with substance abuse. He had been in treatment.

[00:45:08] Chalene Johnson : He’d even made a whole series called Mental Health Mondays that he did on, on social media because he, he really wanted to share with people what he was going through. It makes me wonder, so many people who once they get an SSR- I don’t know if it’s coincidental, I shouldn’t even say this. But it just feels like for some people, when they get on an SSRI, it just does something to their brains.

[00:45:36] Chalene Johnson : And a lot of people are questioning, like, how could he have died of an overdose while he was at a treatment center? From what I understand, it’s not a treatment center in the traditional sense where you’re on lockdown, where they’re searching your bag and not allowing you to have mouthwash. It was almost like a sober living-type environment from what I understand.

[00:46:00] Chalene Johnson : And we don’t know what happened to him. We don’t know about the substances that they suspect. We just don’t know anything really at this stage. But I’ve seen people already deciding that the center must have failed him, that maybe investigators will find their failure, but right now I just don’t think we can say anything along those lines other than to keep Cindy and their family in our prayers because this is just sad.

[00:46:28] Chalene Johnson : I’m just thinking on how many instances of people who die of an overdose, and it’s because what they took was laced with fentanyl. So common in street drugs. Oh, it’s just, just have to get the word out. But I don’t know if that would even matter, ’cause if someone is an addict, are they just gonna take that risk?

[00:46:53] Chalene Johnson : Treatment can help people to reduce their use and help them to recover, but people have relapses all the time. And depending on the circumstances and depending on what drugs were involved, we just don’t know. So I, I don’t think it’s fair to blame the facility. We don’t know what demons he was dealing with and how much of mental health is genetic, how much of it is drug-induced, how much of it is exacerbated by being on the wrong medications.

[00:47:21] Chalene Johnson : It’s just sad because he was getting help, and his death is still being investigated. And Cindy and Randy and, I think her daughter’s name is pronounced Kaia, they … They’ll just never fully recover from this. It’s sad. Really sad. To finish with some lighter news, good job, community. Guess what? You have put the Baddie Betty, the fake 80-year-old Instagram model, the one who makes all the phony accounts and getting influencer deals because she looks like Marilyn Monroe, but sh- she’s got this younger, hot boyfriend and, like, all the stupid videos that everybody thinks are…

00:47:32

Fake AI influencer taken down on Instagram

[00:48:05] Chalene Johnson : And I shouldn’t say everybody, but, like, 95% of the commenters think that these are real people. Well, you did it. You reported her, and they took her down on Instagram. Yeah, I think that we should take credit for this, don’t you? It’s also part of a bigger initiative on Instagram, these fake AI influencers, fake experts, you know, these pretend doctors, accounts that look like it’s a real woman with real res- results with her weight loss, but the woman isn’t even real.

[00:48:35] Chalene Johnson : Or these, like, sad cases of this kid who’s got autism, and he makes these beautiful macrame purses, and then you find out it- it’s not even real, and you’re spending all this money because you feel so sorry for this kid, but you’ve just been manipulated by somebody who’s made a bunch of stupid AI videos, and they’re getting better and better and better.

[00:48:56] Chalene Johnson : Man, I watched one today over and over and over. It was like a dance video. You know, someone doing hip hop, and I’m like, “Oh my God, this guy’s amazing.” And I was just like, “Oh, I cannot believe the way he moves.” Yep, I went to the comments just to see if I could figure out, like, his name so I could go follow him.

[00:49:13] Chalene Johnson : Sure enough, people in the comments, “This is AI. This is AI.” I’m like, “Son of a gun, I fell for it. Dang it.” So it is good to know that Instagram, at least, is trying to cut down on it a little bit as of August 31st. They switched their label now. So it used to say AI creator. Now it says AI generated profile.

[00:49:35] Chalene Johnson : So if you look in your account, and you’re ever wondering if they have detected that the account was created by AI or that it’s not a real creator, it’s a AI creator, you should see a label. And if you don’t, Instagram says you should let them know if you think it is. If you are using AI, they’re warning people it’s gonna cut your reach.

[00:49:56] Chalene Johnson : We’re not gonna let you get as many likes and follows. Now apparently, if you are an AI creator, and you use the labeling appropriately, they say that there’s no penalty. Hmm, I wonder So the only accounts right now are, that are getting hit are the ones that are hiding it, but you can’t hide from this community because we’re gonna tattle on you.

[00:50:16] Chalene Johnson : We don’t like that. Good job, you guys. I do appreciate when we follow through. See, we, we can make change. We can advocate for ourselves, and again, that’s why I really would love to just have you listen to Wednesday’s episode and just understand a little bit better what it is you need to look for and how this could impact you, the things that are coming our way faster than the speed of light as it pertains to AI.

00:50:52

Patreon: doctor-supervised ketamine treatment update

[00:50:42] Chalene Johnson : We can’t… Putting our head in the sand or saying, “Oh, I’m not gonna use it,” that doesn’t make it go away. You will be using it. You might not be using it on your laptop, but it will be affecting every inch of your life. So let’s be in the know. To my Patreon peeps, tomorrow you’re gonna get an update on my latest treatment.
