Talent Acquisition Consultant

Wanted: A savvy, freelance Talent Acquisition Specialist who thrives on finding the right people for a fully remote, online business.

Overview:

Team Johnson, Inc is on the lookout for a sharp, experienced Talent Acquisition Consultant to help us source, recruit, and onboard freelance talent across our portfolio of brands. This is an ad hoc role, activated whenever a new hire is needed. You’ll be our go-to pro for writing compelling job postings, sourcing top-tier applicants, conducting early screenings and interviews, and supporting onboarding for new team members.

This isn’t your average recruiter gig. We’re a fully remote, fast-moving, always evolving, AI-forward team—98% made up of independent contractors. We operate in the online business space (think: courses, memberships, apps, digital products, events, content, and coaching), so we need someone who gets that world.

You’ve Got to Have:

  • A proven track record in recruiting and talent acquisition (bonus points if you’ve worked in online businesses and understand digital marketing needs).

     

  • Experience sourcing and hiring freelancers or consultants.

     

  • Confidence and skill using AI tools to streamline your sourcing, writing, and screening process. Plus the ability to help us find candidates who want to be part of an AI-first team.

     

  • Stellar communication and interviewing skills. You know how to spot red flags and hidden gems. You seek good culture fits as well as top talent.

     

  • Familiarity with remote work tools like Slack, Google Suite, Asana, and Zoom.

 

What You’ll Do:

  1. Collaborate with C-Suite: When a hole is identified, you’ll help the leadership team narrow in on exactly the type of candidate we need to fill it. 
  2. Create Job Postings: Write clear, compelling listings that attract top-tier talent.
  3. Source & Screen Applicants: Use job boards, your network, and AI tools (beyond just ChatGPT) to surface the best fits. Conduct preliminary interviews and assess for both skills and culture fit.
  4. Coordinate Final Interviews: Schedule and prep candidates for final interviews with our brand CEOs.
  5. Oversee Onboarding: Help new hires get set up with systems, docs, and expectations.
  6. Maintain Hiring SOPs: As you work within our existing processes, you’ll start to make adjustments. You’re responsible for updating the SOPs so the system is fully documented for posterity.

  • Independent Consultant, remote role.

     

  • Project-based work—hours will vary depending on hiring needs.

     

  • Typical projects range from $500 to $3,000 depending on scope of the talent needed.

     

  • Tools we use: Asana, 1Password, Slack, Google Suite, Zoom, Loom, Dropbox (you’ll likely be helping new hires get into all of them).

 

You Must Be:

  • Based in the U.S. and fluent in English

     

  • Available during U.S. working hours for interviews, meetings, and onboarding support.

     

  • Comfortable working in bursts. This role is ad hoc and project-based.

     

  • A self-starter who owns your outcomes and doesn’t need hand-holding. You have great accountability.

     

  • You must be AI-fluent and experienced with automation tools to best evaluate the same in potential candidates. We’re not just looking for someone who knows about ChatGPT—we need someone who actively uses it (and other LLMs) to streamline hiring, sourcing, communication, and SOPs. You should also be familiar with building or customizing GPTs, prompt engineering, and using automation tools. Your job will include evaluating whether candidates are capable of thriving in an AI-first company—so if you’re not confident and comfortable with intermediate to advanced AI use, this probably isn’t the right fit.
