Podcast – Why You Might Be a Needy Friend Magnet | CarSmart

Why We Attract Needy Friends

Why do we attract needy friends? Do you ever feel like your friends tend to run to you with their problems? In this CarSmart, I’ll talk about a theory I call Wounded Bird Syndrome; I was a wounded bird attractor for a long time. Now, I’m not saying it’s a horrible thing to help someone in need. But if, for example, your partner or kids aren’t receiving enough of your time, you may want to rethink who you invest your time in.

Sometimes it’s hard to realize that you have needy friends. It’s especially hard to acknowledge that they are consuming as much of your time as they are. This episode will help you to determine whether your friendships are requiring a healthy amount of your time, or if they are bringing you down to exhaustion.
