How To Find Content Ideas in a Niche

share this:

Most creators/influencers struggle with how to find content ideas within their specific niche.

Questions like…

  • “How do I find inspiration for posts?”
  • “Where do I come up with stuff?”
  • “How do I find creativity every single day inside my niche?”

…flood the minds of content creators everywhere and every day.

How to find Content Ideas in a Niche is Something Every Creator Struggles With

So, I’d like to share a really quick strategy many top content creators are using.

And how do I know they’re using it?

Well, I’ve had the good fortune of being able to interview eight individuals — this week — who are social media managers. And quite a few of them run agencies that find content for their clients. And in some instances, they’re giving direction to the social media manager at a top (brand) company.

Upon collecting best practices from each person I interviewed, I found that each had one thing in common (and it may not surprise you).

TikTok.

Download the TikTok app, people! If you don’t, then you won’t be doing what the top creators are doing to save themselves tons of time. Not to mention, get creative when they’re not feeling creative.

Content Creators use TikTok to Ideas in their Niche

Listen, I like to think I’m very creative, funny and a great storyteller — but there are still days where I’m like,

“Oh, I have no idea what to create! My brain can’t be bothered right now! I’m at a total loss!”

My point is: I get over those particular moments by heading to TikTok. And what I do is on par with those interviewed for this blog.

For You Page.

This search tool is equivalent to the explore page on Instagram. All you’re going to do is type in hashtags (in the search bar) that relate to your niche. For example, I often lookup:

  • ADHD
  • easily distracted
  • entrepreneur
  • online business
  • mompreneur
  • small business
  • new business owner
  • small business problems

Sure, you can do the same thing on Instagram. But (and it’s a big but)…

The reason most of these creators and I, myself, recommend you do this on TikTok is that the trends happen there first.

Things just pop off so much faster on TikTok! By the time a trend hits Instagram in the form of a Reel, it’s probably already kinda old. And while old might only be a couple of weeks, that’s basically ancient from a TikTok standpoint.
