As Seen on Facebook: Knee Relief Exercises
Here are a few ways to modify traditional cardio drills to protect the alignment and minimize torque. Remember, your instructor (whether on video or in person) is teaching to the general population. They can’t possibly know the injuries, sensitivities or limitations of every participant. And frankly, there are a boatload of “Instagram Fitness Influencers” who design workouts yet have zero education or formal training with regard to proper alignment or risk vs benefit of certain exercises.
You are solely responsible for your body. That means YOU must be your own advocate. It’s not just your right to modify exercises, it’s your personal responsibility. Regardless of your injury, limitation or level of fitness – you can find a way to do SOMETHING! Something is 100% better than nothing. Drop the all or nothing mindset and get back in the game! And thanks for sharing this video with your fit community!
As Seen On The Chalene Show, Podcast Highlight Of The Week: 5 Ways to Stop Negative Self-Talk
While there are many resources out there dedicated to the topic of ending negative self-talk — podcasts, blogs, YouTube videos — many of the tips often discussed are just plain old corny and ineffective. But in your pod feature this week, I’m going to give you 5 very realistic things (that actually work) you can do to end the cycle of negative self-thinking.
There were so many podcast gems this week, including a BONUS show…

- How To Prepare for a Speech or Live Video w/ Brock Johnson (Tuesday, Build Your Tribe)

As Seen On IG Feed: Why I’m Showing Off My 51 yr Old Bikini Bod
Speaking of negative self-talk… Lord knows too many women are guilty of just that when it comes to their bodies — especially whenever swimsuit season is in the not-so-distant future! And this unfortunate internal dialogue gets worse and worse the older we get.
The pics below (taken this week) were posted onto my Instagram to encourage conversation about our attitudes toward aging. A few days ago I turned 51. Ladies, I’m here to tell you that your age, your confidence, your body, your ability… it all boils down to your beliefs. In the last 6 years I’ve become stronger, sexier, healthier, happier, more confident and less tolerant of bullshit than I was in my 20’s, 30’s or 40’s. What do you want for yourself?
Sure…things change, like skin that suddenly looks like your moms, wrinkles around elbows, or losing the ability to see text messages without readers. Minor issues when you consider all the cool shit that comes with age. It’s amazing. Ladies – this is the place to be. I hope you know you’re only getting better.
Last thing – if you believe as you age you become less attractive, less fit, less confident… You’re right. If you believe as you age you become stronger, healthier, smarter and more beautiful- YOU ARE RIGHT. You decide. Your reality will follow your beliefs. What do you believe?
Look, I NEVER post bathing suit, revealing or even sexy pics. It has nothing to do with my age. I just know I have way more to offer than my body. (But I do take those kinds of pics and I send them to my husband of 25 years.) Consider today the exception…
If I may, perhaps THE key reason my age is just a number and that I feel younger than ever is that I learned how to eat right for ME and MY body. And that is the sole purpose behind 131 Method. To get you to understand YOU like never before. I’d love to have you on board and start with our next Monday group on Feb 10th! You deserve to be the best you imaginable!
Oh, and I invite you to follow me on IG Stories and introduce yourself! That’s where I connect with you the most. And tell me your beliefs on aging in the comments below and share this blog so we can start to change the narrative about women and age!
xoxo,
Chalene

Great pic! I can give you something to keep in mind for your 60’s But this block won’t let me paste it here.🤦♀️
Happy Birthday, and you look great! You SHOULD be showing these pictures to be a an inspiration to everybody like myself in my fifties. I need to lose a lot of weight, but am always inspired by your workouts and your positive attitude, and of course all your dvds. Keep up the good work. You are to be admired!
Happy Birthday, Chalene! I love your exercise programs, Turbo Fire, Chalene Extreme, and the ones I keep going back to are the Turbo Jam videos. You are so inspirational and encouraging. I am 65 and in good shape, not as skinny as you; however, I am in the perfect range for weight, feel fantastic, and your voice is in my head so much with your enthusiasm. I am the same height as you also. Your energy is contagious. You are by far the best!!
You look amazing! Age is just a number! Love your podcast and all you give to the community! Oh ya, and not just the free stuff! As a member of MIA and 131, everything you produce is top-notch! Thank you for all you do!

Great body, Chalene. I’m decades behind but I have to look up to you right now. I don’t feel bad about my body though, just know I’ve got work to do
Hmm it looks like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I
had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything.
Do you have any tips and hints for first-time blog writers?
I’d definitely appreciate it.
