Scared money don’t make money — a phrase my husband has tattooed on his arm — is the guiding principle that helps dictate a lot of our decisions, investments and business opportunities in life.
The idea behind scared money don’t make money can be applied to big and small transactions. And really, if you think about it, the meaning behind this phrase comes down to abundance versus a scarcity mindset.
A scarcity mindset will never lead to an abundance of wealth.
So, if you’re scared to ever risk / invest your money and you’re holding on to it so tight, you’re never able to receive future blessings.
“I don’t have much, so I have to hold on to it!”
This line of thinking is exceedingly popular and, sadly, leads to anxiety, nervousness and holding on to what you do have. Even your posture changes: shoulders hunched, hands turned inward. This negative mindset manifests itself in so many ways!
But — when you release that fear, move from a scared frame of mind into an abundance mindset… then you recognize that money, blessings, relationships, people and opportunities flow freely to you and through you.
This is about opening yourself up to recognize that it might, for example, be okay for you to turn down a certain speaking opportunity because there’s going to be another one coming in the future. And it will better align with your schedule and your priorities.
Scared money don’t make money is something that can be applied to a lot of different areas in your life:
- Investments and the stock market
- Hiring help at home
Sure, you could have a hoard mentality and only consider your money living in a basic savings account forever. And that’s not to say that’s the worst idea ever. It’s safe and practical.
Nevertheless, in such situations one fails to understand that the key to unlocking the door to future success is in taking calculated risks. And if that ain’t scared money don’t make money, then I don’t know what is.
