Snapshot | Privacy Is Dead. Here’s Why…

Plus! #1 Way To Heal An injury & That Moment When Your Phone Falls!

With Halloween and all things spooky still on the brain, I thought I’d get a little crazy and jumble the order of events in this week’s Snapshot. Hear me out and try not to freak:

The first chat will NOT be the headlining chat! I know, I know. Your jaw is dropped. Your sitting in stunned disbelief. And your eyes are staring at the screen, frozen, unable to blink, like a deer in the headlights.

But listen, I felt compelled to start things off with the scariest of all scenarios… that moment when your phone falls. Who could blame me? It’s Halloween week!

Then, we’re going to 180 things with a thought provoking conversation about privacy in this new age of social media. And, lastly, we’re heading over to health with the absolute best way to heal an injury.

Because, you know, that’s ALWAYS part of my plan… to get you feeling your best!

Just For Fun Chat – That Moment When Your Phone Falls

Cue horror music: Your grip is weakening. Could this actually be happening? Your reflexes take over. But, it’s not enough. It’s sliding away from your fingers. The reality of the moment is too painful to consider. Fear courses through every cell. Panic sets in. And, it happens. You’ve lost her. She’s going down. It all happens in slow-mo. It’s too late.

CRASH!

We’ve all been there. The infamous moment we drop our phones. It’s no wonder studies show that 79% of smartphone users depend on a protective case for their phone!

And when you’re a fitness person, I bet that percentage goes up! We’re always trying to capture the perfect shot… regardless how precarious the setup might be.

Relationship Chat – Privacy Is Dead. Here’s Why…

When most people think of privacy today, their brain goes right to social media. Am I right or am I right? Whether it’s macro: Facebook experiencing major scrutiny – this year more than ever – over data-sharing. Or micro: Your friends and family publicly sharing every aspect of their personal lives across 1, 2, or many platforms.

This really isn’t new when you consider that humans are, by nature, social animals. We love sharing stories – our own and others’.  So, the advent of technology has only magnified this innate behavior to never imagined proportions.

And with that comes ever-changing lines that are crossed and rules that are broken. How far is too far, though?

Health Chat – #1 Way To Heal An Injury

In my most utopian of fantasies, my son would stop buying Crocs, flawless hair & makeup would only take a second to do (and undo), and hip hop dance would be a prerequisite for any and all colleges. And, oh! I forgot… world peace, no diseases, and everyone would exercise on the daily – promoting good health and happy moods everywhere. But, for better or worse, perfection will never happen in the real world. And, honestly, that’s a good thing. How else are we to truly know gratitude, right?

Just imagine, though, everyone did exercise every day. As pretty and inspiring as that sounds, we all know it comes with a price… injury. It’s just part of being human – no matter how careful and trained we might be. Heck, injury can happen from the most seemingly innocuous things – like hot soup.

So, consider this next video a PSA of sorts. Reminding you the #1 way to heal any kind of injury. It should be taken very seriously and, sadly, isn’t by many. Not even me until only a few years ago…

By the way! Happy November!

You still have 1/6 of the year left to make stuff happen!

And congrats to my newest MIA students who decided to CRUSH the remaining 1/6 and ALL of 2019! We closed enrollment yesterday and I’m thrilled to say this new class is already on fire! #ProudMom

XOXO
