One of the best ways to grow your Instagram — like most social platforms — is to be consistent. Consistency is king. With that in mind, let’s get into how often you should be using Instagram stories.
By the way, there should be an asterisk in regard to the following info. Why? Well, the “best practice” here really depends on YOUR audience.
Most people should be posting at least 10 times per day on their Instagram Story.
Some people can post a little bit more, up to 20 times. But for most, if you post too much, your audience won’t watch all the way through. Those little dashes up at the top will turn into just little tiny bullet points — and nobody wants to commit to watching an Instagram Story for that long.
That’s why I’m sticking to a recommendation of 10 posts per day on your Instagram Story!
Now, the huge piece of the puzzle (that most people miss) is that you shouldn’t:
- Post 10 times at once
- Repurpose a bunch of content
- Download your Snapchat Story and throw it up on your Instagram Story
Many influencers think “Well, I got to 10. I’m good!” if they do any of the above. Nope.
Look, you need to be posting throughout the day, focusing on documentation rather than creation. In the morning, middle of the day, early afternoon, late afternoon, evening, night time.
Every time we post, our bubble will be moved back to the front of the queue. This will obviously allow your general story — overall — to increase in views. This will lead to more engagement and a higher amount of responses from your audience.
Again, the magic number for Instagram Stories… is posting 10 times per day throughout the day.
Stories are just one option on Instagram. What about Live videos, the feed, or IGTV? Sure, consistency is still key, but you need to know details, people!
