You could use more money.
I could use more money.
Who couldn’t use a little more money???
Right now, my husband and I are traveling throughout Europe. There is nothing special about us per se. We are able to do this and do it in style because not too many years ago we made a decision to create multiple streams of income.
It is easier and more important than ever before for you to begin to create additional streams of income.
I know you’ve heard this before, but I pray you hear it louder today than ever before…
The opportunity to just create a side hustle, while you are a full-time stay-at-home parent, or while you are working full-time for somebody else… It’s not just possible. But it is necessary.
AI is turning the world upside down. And we just don’t know exactly what that means for our financial future or our job security.
You just never know. Even if you already run a business, why not consider creating an additional stream of income? That side hustle might help you to pay your mortgage or make it easier to send your kids to college.
For years, I’ve been teaching people how to start their own side hustle. I want to share some of that knowledge here, with you.
I want to start by quickly looking at some of the reasons people often need to make money fast…
Reasons to Start A Side-Hustle
- Financial emergencies

The need for fast money is a reality that a lot of people face at some point in their lives. Even someone with a stable job may find themselves struggling to make ends meet. Rising costs of living, unexpected expenses, or low wages can create a persistent gap between income and expenses.
If you find yourself in a situation where you need to make money fast, these simple side hustles can help you to generate income quickly…

Now, let’s talk about my personal favorite side hustle: reselling…
It’s all about buying products at a lower price and then selling them at a higher price to make a profit. You can do this on platforms like eBay, Poshmark, or even through local classifieds. You can find these products from various sources like thrift stores, garage sales, clearance sales, or wholesale suppliers.
But the best part? You have lucrative inventory just sitting around your house! Did you know that the average American household has over $2,000 worth of unused goods that they can resell right now? It’s time to turn that clutter into cash!
Instead of feeling burdened by all that stuff, why not use it to fund your journey and kickstart your dreams? With a bit of knowledge about market trends, good negotiation skills, and effective marketing strategies, you can turn your unused items into a profitable venture!
Each side hustle has its own set of challenges and requirements. It’s essential to do thorough research, understand your target audience, and develop the necessary skills to make your side hustle successful.
It’s important to instill these same values and lessons in your kids. There are several ways, in addition to the above, that teens can make money fast.
Side-Hustles for Teens
Babysitting can be a great way to earn money if you enjoy spending time with children. You can offer your services to family, friends, or neighbors, and build a reputation as a reliable babysitter.
Pet Sitting or Dog Walking allows you to spend time with furry friends and get paid for it.
Offer lawn care and gardening services in your neighborhood. Many homeowners are willing to pay for assistance with yard work like raking leaves, watering plants, or general gardening tasks.
Set up a car wash in your neighborhood. With some basic cleaning supplies and equipment, you can provide a convenient service to busy individuals.
Tutor younger students who need help with their studies. This can include subjects like math, science, languages, or even music lessons if you have expertise in an instrument.
Offer carpool services to your classmates or neighbors who need transportation to school, after-school activities, or events.
Remember to consider any legal requirements or restrictions that may apply to your age and location before starting a side hustle. Also, always prioritize your safety and well-being when engaging in any side hustle.
It’s completely normal to feel apprehensive about combining finances with your spouse. Money matters can be sensitive and the conflicts that can arise are no joke.
Trust me, they happen to the best of us!
If you’re still feeling uneasy, consider taking a gradual approach. Start by opening a joint account for shared expenses while maintaining separate accounts for personal spending. This can provide a sense of autonomy and ease the transition.
Either way, it’s crucial to get on the same page early on. Make it fun (as possible) and have a money date! Go out and talk about your financial goals, priorities, and how you want to handle your hard-earned cash together. You’ll be glad you did.
And, don’t be shy about seeking help from a financial advisor or counselor – they’ve got the tools to guide you through the rough patches. Our CPA saw us through the worst of it, including Bret’s gambling addiction.
